INSIDER'S PARIS
Art, Life and Culture
May 20-27, 2008

Experience Paris from the inside out!

Join us for a fascinating week dedicated to Paris art, life and culture. We'll go far beyond the guidebooks - into homes, kitchens and galleries - as well as museums, markets, fashion venues, and a spa.

What's special about this trip

  • We'll meet Paris artists and writers at the vernissage, or opening, of a group expo in the Marais. The show includes American writer and painter Phoebe Stone, and several internationally known French writers and artists.
  • Later in the week, we'll have tea and a salon with Phoebe in her 3 story Paris house. One evening, we'll dine with a Paris chef in her apartment.
  • We'll explore the city's newest museum, Le Laboratoire, where artists and scientists work together.
  • We'll discover couture fashion, including the original Chanel store, the fabulous concept store, Colette, and more - with an optional guided visit to Yves St Laurent.
  • We'll balance group activity and alone time - so that you can relax with a sauna at the chic spa near our hotel, or dance along the Seine with your muse.
  • Our small group - 3-5 women, each with a single room - gives you your own space, while assuring meaningful connections and stimulating conversations.
Sample Day

9am - noon: We'll go back in time at Musée Jacquemart-André, the private mansion of a couple who traveled the world collecting the works of old masters. Architectural highlights are the unusual winter garden, grand staircase, and elegant private apartments.

noon - 1:30 pm: Lunch in the museum's tearoom, under a ceiling adorned with frescos by Tiepolo.

1:30 - 5 pm: Depending on your interests, perhaps a visit to the city's fashion museum, or the contemporary gallery Atelier Z. Both are nearby, just off the famed Champs-Elysées.

5 - 8 pm: Meet French artists and writers at the opening reception of "Pages et Images" - a group show that includes American Phoebe Stone in an up-and-coming gallery in the Marais.

8 - 10 pm: We'll exchange insights over dinner at a charming restaurant near the gallery and a short walk to our hotel.
